Kingsley Engineering Service Corporation has been awarded the contract to design, equipment supply, installation & commissioning of a cutting-edge Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for Cotton Club (BD) Ltd. (Unit 02) (Mondol Group) in Hatimara, Kashimpur, Gazipur, Bangladesh. This project is a significant step towards sustainable wastewater management in the textile industry, ensuring environmental compliance while promoting eco-friendly operations.

The capacity of the proposed STP is to treat 276 cubic meters of black water (sewage) daily, catering to the needs of 6,000 people, including garment workers and all factory staff. Kingsley will integrate advanced Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology to ensure that the treated effluent meets not only the stringent environmental standards set by the Department of Environment (DoE), Bangladesh and the Environmental Conservation Rules (ECR) 2023 but also the specific wastewater treatment requirements of international buyers.

A Commitment to Sustainable Industrial Practices

Cotton Club (BD) Ltd., a major textile manufacturer, is dedicated to reducing its environmental impact while maintaining high production efficiency. The implementation of this STP underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing by effectively treating only black water (sewage) from the facility. Designed to handle the high-volume sewage load of an industrial facility, this STP ensures safe discharge or reuse, helping to protect local water resources.

Embracing Sustainability and Innovation

Kingsley’s approach to the Cotton Club (BD) Ltd STP prioritizes sustainability and efficiency. The use of MBR technology minimizes sludge generation, reduces chemical consumption, and enhances effluent quality. Additionally, MBR systems are significantly more compact than conventional Activated Sludge Process (ASP) methods, making them ideal for space-constrained industrial environments. The treated water can be repurposed for non-potable applications such as landscaping, gardening, car & solar panel washing and industrial processes, promoting water conservation and reducing the factory’s overall water demand.
