This is a parent organization of two newly developing shipyard ventures — Daheek Shipyard & Slipways Ltd. and Ruhanee Shipping Lines OPC. The partnership signing ceremony, held on 11th September 2025, was graced by the presence of Kingsley Group’s top leadership, including Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Asiqur Rahman and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr. Sukumar Dali. Distinguished representatives from Daheek Shipyard & Slipways Ltd. and Ruhanee Shipping Lines OPC, including Managing Director (MD) Mr. Mohammad Aminnul Islam, were also in attendance. The event underscored the shared commitment of both organizations to promoting sustainable industrial development and advancing environmentally responsible growth within Bangladesh’s maritime sector. These two emerging shipyard facilities are expected to make a significant contribution to Bangladesh’s economy by enhancing the nation’s shipbuilding capacity and creating valuable employment opportunities in the maritime sector.

Under this collaboration, Kingsley Group will act as the Environmental Consultancy and Compliance Partner, leading the process of obtaining the Department of Environment (DoE) Environmental Clearance Certificates for both facilities in full compliance with the Environmental Conservation Rules (ECR) 2023.

A Step Forward for Bangladesh’s Shipbuilding Industry

As part of TAML Group’s strategic expansion, the establishment of Daheek Shipyard & Slipways Ltd. and Ruhanee Shipping Lines OPC marks a significant milestone in strengthening Bangladesh’s maritime engineering and ship repair capacity. These state of art facilities are being developed with a vision to enhance the nation’s shipbuilding infrastructure and technological capability. Once fully operational, they will play a pivotal role in vessel maintenance, construction and marine logistics, offering comprehensive services to both domestic and international clients. Beyond industrial advancement, the shipyards are expected to stimulate regional economic growth, create substantial employment opportunities and contribute meaningfully to the overall progress of Bangladesh’s maritime sector.

Kingsley’s Role in Environmental Compliance

To ensure full environmental compliance in line with the Environmental Conservation Rules (ECR) 2023, Kingsley Group will undertake a comprehensive set of activities, including:

  • Conducting Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for both sites.
  • Water Management System Drawing, Detailed Design, Design Calculation & Process Description for EIA & ESC.
  • Preparing an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) to guide construction and operation phases.
  • Organizing public consultation sessions and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure transparency and regulatory alignment.
  • Liaising with the Department of Environment (DoE) to obtain the required Environmental Clearance Certificates.
